The history of Club Deportivo Molareño is filled with dedication, perseverance, and an unwavering love for football. Since its founding in 1973, the club has evolved from humble beginnings to become a central figure in El Molar’s sports community. What started as a small team with limited resources has grown into an institution that represents the pride and spirit of the town.

A Humble Beginning

Legend has it that April 1973 marked the first official game of Club Deportivo Molareño. The road to establishing the club was anything but easy, with the players and board working tirelessly to keep the dream alive. With no budget to speak of, they had to rely on their determination to provide even the most necessities like goals and nets. At times, the field even had to be relocated due to a lack of facilities.

The club’s home base was a local bar, and training sessions were held at a place known as El Remolino, an old jail. The field was made of dirt, and when it rained, it turned into a muddy mess. Spectators, undeterred by these conditions, watched the games from their cars, honking their horns to celebrate every goal.

The Rise of the Warriors

The players who wore the blue of Molareño were known for their grit and resilience. The team was determined not just to play football, but to win and bring joy to their town. They became known as the warriors of Molareño, embodying the values that would define the club’s future — Fight, Caste, and Honor.

Their passion and enthusiasm infected the entire town, uniting residents under the same shirt and shield. Promotion to higher leagues was met with celebrations and pride, as football became more than just a game — it became the heartbeat of El Molar.
